SERIES-2.1: IMPORTANCE OF CHEMISTRY IN EVERYDAY LIFE
LET ME GLANCE AT THE VIGYAN STORY THROUGH THE IMPORTANCE OF CHEMISTRY IN EVERYDAY LIFE IN DETAIL:
Have you ever wondered about the importance of chemistry in day to day life?
Importance and scope of chemistry are huge!
In this Vigyan Story, we will look at some of the practical applications of chemistry.
Chemistry in everyday life is one of the chapters of chemistry. Finding an answer is one of the most common chemistry homework assignments, main moto behind assignments is to found out, how we use chemistry in daily life, and we got an answer that, Chemistry is present everywhere, That's how we practically learn chemistry. Here's a look at why chemistry matters:
If you already studied Chemistry or having knowledge about it, you must have wondered about the importance of chemistry in everyday life. It is the branch of science which deals with the investigation of the properties and changes of matter. From the human digestion to the creation of a whole universe that means everything is associated with chemistry.
What is Chemistry?
Chemistry is the branch of science which deals with the properties, composition, and structure of substances (defined as elements, molecule and compounds), the transformations they undergo, and the energy that is released or absorbed during these chemical processes.
Technologies that made and developed by chemistry and its various branches that enrich our quality of life in numerous ways by providing new solutions to problems in health, materials, and energy usage. Thus, studying chemistry is useful and helpful for us to prepare for the real world.
It’s Everywhere
Chemicals are everywhere present in everything. Anything you can touch or smell or see made up of different chemical compositions.
Every substance, whether naturally occurring or artificially made, consists of small particle called an atom.
All everyday objects that we able to touch are ultimately composed of atoms, which made up of subatomic particles called proton, neutrons and electrons.
Matter exists in various states which are also known as phases.
There are four natural states of matter:
Solids, liquids, gases and plasma. The fifth state is the man-made Bose-Einstein condensates.
For example, water exists as ice, liquid, and gaseous steam.
Chemistry also utilizes natural substances and creates artificial ones.
From ancient history to the modern world, that time Civilizations used technologies that would eventually form the basis of the various branches of chemistry.
Examples are Cooking, fermentation, glass making, and metallurgy, the discovery of fire, extracting metals from ores, making pottery and glazes, extracting chemicals from plants for medicinal purpose and also for perfumery, fat into soap, making glass, and making alloys, are all chemical processes.
Today Polymers, Nanotechnology, advanced pharmaceuticals, semiconductors and superconductors, represent the fruits of chemical technology.
The marvellous and complex chemistry of living organisms and a molecular and genetic interpretation of health and diseases, for example, if new Modern chemistry, aided by increasingly sophisticated instruments, the study of chemistry includes materials as small as single atoms and as large and complex macromolecules a DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid).
Many of the changes you observe in the world around you are occurred due to chemical reactions. Examples include many things from small atom to macromolecules like biomolecules.
Once you get into that Chemistry is all around you, you will realize how correlative and interesting subject applicable in day to day life it is!
